Health/Medical Statistician £31,840 – £35,858 (dependent on experience) This new post, based at the University of Hertfordshire has resulted from a strategic review of non-clinical academic research staff who work alongside the clinical research staff within the Hertfordshire Hospitals Consortium. To enhance the Consortium’s international reputation for research, and importantly increase the amount of external research funding, the review highlighted the need for 2 new senior academic research posts. For this post we are seeking someone experienced in Health or Medical Statistics. You would ideally have a background in cancer related R&D, as cancer research constitutes the bulk of R&D within the Trust. However, non-cancer related expertise, in most areas of applied statistics, would also be well received, especially where this has been in the areas of clinical trials / other clinical research methods, applied biosciences R&D, health related psychology / sociology or health economics. Although this will be funded as a full time post we are willing to support part time appointments so long as we can satisfy ourselves that this arrangement will meet the needs of the Consortium. This is an excellent opportunity to work with internationally recognised clinical research groups in the areas of cancer (principally Mount Vernon Hospital), nephrology, rheumatoid arthritis, and mental health. For more information Google ‘HRDSU’ and ‘CliCIR’. For further details and application form please contact the personnel department (http://recruitment.herts.ac.uk/recruit ) For an informal discussion, please contact Supri Rajiv (Administrator for HRDSU/CLiCIR) in the first instance on 01707 286292, or Dr John Done (01707 284638; d.j.done@herts.ac.uk) or Dr David Wellsted (01707 286291; d.m.wellsted@herts.ac.uk).
